Shooting

Archery is the first sport that represented Jordan in the Olympic Games, and that was in the Moscow version in 1980, and the player Asmaa Abu Rabei succeeded in returning the Jordanian shooting participation to the Olympic Games for the first time in 21 years.

Shooting is one of the few sports that was included in the first version of the modern Olympic Games and continues to this day, as it did not miss the Olympic presence except for its absence from the 1904 and 1928 editions.

Shooting at the Olympic Games consists of 15 events, 6 men’s events, 6 women’s events, and 3 mixed events.

The United States of America is the country that has achieved the most medals in shooting sports at the Olympic level, with 116 medals, including 57 gold medals.

Jordan Swimming Federation

The Royal Jordanian Shooting Federation was established in 1974 and includes about 55 male and female players. The Federation includes 3 centers and one club. It has previously participated in 5 Olympic Games in 1980, 1984, 1992, 1996 and 2000.
